Paint Your Wagon

Have you ever heard of the (musical) western Paint Your Wagon? If not, let me inform you about the movie...

Made in 1969, Paint Your Wagon is a musical western starring Lee Marvin, Clint Eastwood, and Jean Seberg. The film was actually made near East Eagle and Kettle Creek, although in the film it was portrayed as a mining camp in California. It is at this site that they built No Name City for the film, however, after the film was complete the site was torn down as requested by the USFS.

On Tuesday I made a trip over to East Eagle to get some mules from Mark so that we would have them here at Cornucopia. Of course I had to stop and grab a few photos from the site. The fall colors are beautiful and I will always wonder how exactly the film makers decided on this amazing little gem.
