A few days ago (before the government shutdown occurred) my mom and I went to The National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center. It was National Public Lands Day, which meant no entry fee. I figured we should stop and make time to see such a neat local site. The Oregon Trail Interpretive Center offers living history demonstrations, interpretive programs, exhibits, multi-media presentations, special events, and more than four miles of trail sit on their property.

Mule. It's real. Well as real as a taxidermy mule can be.
Minus the wagon.. this campsite looks real familiar. Gotta love those wall tents.

Stamp mill. Gold mining has always been huge in this area.
